This page explains which cookies Measure & Build uses, what each one does, and how to control or refuse them.
The short version
This site sets no cookies of its own. Every cookie described here belongs to a third party — analytics and advertising — and you can refuse all of them without breaking any calculator on the site.
What cookies are
A cookie is a small text file a website asks your browser to store. It might remember a preference, count a visit, or track which pages you’ve seen across different sites. Similar technologies — local storage, pixels, tags — do comparable jobs and are covered by this policy too.

Every calculator runs in your browser and stores nothing. If you block all cookies, the tools work exactly as they do otherwise. Nothing on this site is gated behind accepting them.
Google Analytics
Analytics tells me which calculators get used, which pages people leave immediately, and roughly where visitors come from. That’s how I decide what to build and what to fix.
It reports in aggregate — a page had a number of views from a country — rather than identifying individuals. You can opt out entirely with the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, which works across every site you visit.
Advertising cookies
Third-party vendors including Google use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visits here and elsewhere on the internet.
Ways to control this:
- Google Ads Settings — google.com/settings/ads lets you turn off ad personalisation across Google services
- Digital Advertising Alliance — aboutads.info/choices for US-based vendor opt-outs
- Your Online Choices — youronlinechoices.eu for European vendors
- Network Advertising Initiative — optout.networkadvertising.org
Opting out doesn’t remove advertising. It makes the ads you see less relevant to you, and generally means fewer cookies are set.
Managing cookies in your browser
Every major browser lets you block or delete cookies. Blocking third-party cookies specifically stops most advertising and analytics tracking while leaving normal sites working.

Browsing in a private or incognito window also discards cookies when you close it.
Do Not Track
There is still no agreed industry standard for how websites should respond to browser Do Not Track signals, so this site does not respond to them differently. The opt-out links above are more effective and are honoured by the vendors concerned.
Changes
If the cookies used here change, this page will be updated and the review date at the foot revised.
This page describes Google Analytics and Google AdSense. Remove any service that is not actually installed on the site, and add anything that is. If you operate in the EU, UK or certain US states, you’ll also need a consent banner that blocks non-essential cookies until the visitor agrees — a policy page alone doesn’t satisfy that requirement.
